It is rather easy to move around Florence on foot or by public transport. What some locals and visitors may not know is that the capital of Tuscany is also the top city in Italy for car-sharing

In Florence, this already very popular service will now become even more widespread thanks to an agreement signed between the City of Florence and Sicilian start-up, Adduma Car. The company, which promotes sustainable mobility, will provide a fleet of 100 electric vehicles. These will not only comprise traditional hire cars but will also include removal vans and commercial minivans for small deliveries in the city centre. Adduma Car’s vehicles are fully electric. They can be charged at the 120 electric points available across the city, which represents the 20% of the total national network of charging stations, making Florence the most electric city in Italy.

Similar to other car-sharing services operating in Florence, getting on board of Adduma Car starts with a download of the mobile app. Customers can register and find the nearest vehicle to them on an interactive map.
Advantages to the customer offered by the new operator are the low rental rates applied. It costs 20 cents per minute to rent an Adduma Car for the first hour, the price is 9 cents per minute from the second hour, and customers will pay 1 cent per minute from the eight hour. A 24-hour rental will cost €59,40 inclusive of recharging costs, parking, and insurance.
