This is a selection of events taking place in January 2021 in Florence and the Metropolitan area. The full programme is listed on the area’s official tourism website, Feel Florence
Events are subject to postponement or cancellation due to Covid-19 in compliance with the governmental regulation to tackle the pandemic

Exhibitions: To commemorate the 700th anniversary of the Supreme Poet’s death, the Uffizi Gallery will organise a virtual exhibition featuring the collection of 88 drawings known as ‘Dante Istoriato’ by Federico Zuccari. Completed between 1586 and 1588, in Spain, by the painter of the frescoes on the Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, the collection of drawings illustrate Dante’s Divine Comedy,  so exhaustively that they are only comparable to those of Sandro Botticelli and to the 19th century version by Gustave Doré.
The event will be available throughout Dante’s year in 2021. All exhibitions that have been suspended due to the pandemic will be available online on the Galleries Facebook page.
Five architectural projects from the exhibition dedicated to Pierluigi Nervi will be reinterpreted by international architects, designers and artists. This free online event is available on the Facebook page of Manifattura Tabacchi.
For more virtual exhibitions, visit the social pages of the Ferragamo and Stibbert Museums. A vast program of live streaming events is also listed on  Florence Feel’s website, in the events category.
Music: Young Israeli director Lahav Shami, who took over from his master, Zubin Meta as leader the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, will take the stage of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino on 21 January
Last but not least, Bibliobus, the library on wheels, will be travelling again across the 5 districts of the city. The itinerant service will have two more stops near gardens, schools,  squares and outdoor markets.
