Exhibitions – To commemorate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death, until 6 November the Museum of the Opera of Duomo will display the minutes of the meeting attended by Da Vinci which was held in 1504 to discuss the permanent location of Michelangelo’s David. More about the Tuscan genius at Museum of Santa Maria Novella which will host the exhibition The Botany of Leonardo until 15 December.
From 18 to 27 October, Fortezza da Basso will host the 12th Florence Biennale. The International contemporary art exhibition in Florence will showcase Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, Mixed Media, Installations, Photography, Digital Art.
Every Monday, until the end of the year, young EU citizens aged between 18 and 25 will be offered free admission to Museo of Palazzo Vecchio, Museo Novecento, Museo Stefano Bardini, Brancacci Chapel and Fondazione Salvatore Romano.

Food Festivals – October is dedicated to her majesty the chestnut.
Chestnut festivals will be hosted in Vicchio on 13 and 20 October and in Greve in Chianti on the 19 and 20 of the month. On the same weekend, Tavernelle Val di Pesa will organize a Festival dedicated to chestnuts and new wine. On 20 and 27 of October, San Godenzio will celebrate Ballottata, which will be held after the Marronata on 13 October.
Every Sunday in October Chestnut Festival will be the main attraction in Marradi and Palazzuolo.
