Florence and Metropolitan Area: events December 2022

Here is a rundown of events scheduled for December 2022 in Florence and the surrounding area. The announcements are taken from Feel Florence, the official tourism site of the Municipality of Florence and the metropolitan city area.

The month leading up to Christmas will also this year be characterized by the F-Light Festival, which from 8th December to 8th January will light up the city of Florence and its monuments. In Piazza Santa Croce the traditional Viennese market will be held with over fifty stands.
Until 8th January Empoli will again be the Christmas City. Same end date for Christmas in Sesto Fiorentino. Until 23rd December “Magic Christmas in Vaglia”, while on the Sundays of December there will be “Christmas in progress” in Barberino del Mugello and “Long Live Christmas” in Dicomano. In Campi Bisenzio, at Villa Montalvo, until 24th December the “Magic World of Father Christmas”. “Certaldo lights up Christmas” in Piazza Boccaccio until 6th January.

Exhibitions – At Palazzo Medici Riccardi, until 8th January 2023, “Passion of the 1900s. From Paul Klee to Damien Hirst”, dedicated to the masters of the twentieth century. Palazzo Strozzi is hosting, until 22nd January, “Olafur Eliasson – In Your Time” the biggest exhibition dedicated to one of the most original and visionary contemporary artists of our time. The Cattedrale dell’Immagine is hosting the exhibition dedicated to the street art of Banksy until 26th February. Until 26th March at the Museo degli Innocenti, the anthology dedicated to the genial Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher.
