Florence and metropolitan area: events in March 2022

Here is a rundown of events scheduled for March 2022 in Florence and the surrounding area. The announcements are taken from Feel Florence, the official tourism site of the Municipality of Florence and the metropolitan city area.
All events may be subject to restrictions, cancellation or variation due to the ongoing health crisis.

Exhibitions – At the Opera del Duomo Museum until 1st August in the Sala della Tribuna of Michelangelo, the original of the Pietà Bandini, recently restored, and the casts of the Pietà Vaticana and of the Pietà Rondanini from the Vatican Museums, displayed together for the first time. At the Museo di Palazzo Medici Riccardi until 10th March it will be possible to visit the exhibition on Benozzo Gozzoli, dedicated to the birth of the Chapel of the Magi. Extended until 25th April, at the Cattedrale dell’immagine of Florence there is the exhibition “Inside Dalì”, an evocative artistic and multimedia creation that focuses on the life of the Catalan artist. The Museum of the 1900s, until 1st May, presents: “Leoncillo-L’antico” a new event dedicated to the great Italian masters of the 20th century.
Moving from Florence to the other municipalities of the metropolitan area, in Montespertoli, the Museo dell’Arte Sacra is hosting “Giotto’s Followers in Valdelsa” extended until 3rd April.

In Pontassieve the 27th edition of Cinelandia continues, the Art Film Festival.

Food and wine – Every weekend, until 20th March, at Rignano sull’Arno it will be possible to taste the fritters of San Donato in Collina.
