Here is a review of events scheduled in January 2024 in Florence and the Florentine metropolitan area. The reports are taken from Feel Florence, the official tourism website of the Metropolitan City and Municipality of Florence

The first days of 2024 will be the last opportunity to admire the Green Line light shows on Florence’s monuments. Art – At Palazzo Medici Riccardi two important exhibitions. Until 28th January ‘Depero. Cavalcata fantastica”, an important monographic exhibition dedicated to the master of Futurism. In the Galleria delle Carrozze until 21st January “Viaggio di Luce”, with works by Claudio Parmiggiani and Abel Herrero. Until 4th February Palazzo Strozzi is hosting the great exhibition “Untrue unreal” conceived and created together with Anish Kapoor, the famous master who revolutionised the idea of sculpture in contemporary art. At Palazzo Pitti until 24th January an exhibition dedicated to the history of the Jewish ghetto in Florence. Until 2nd June, the Palazzo dei Vicari in Scarperia will host “I Medici: People of Mugello. Family portraits from the Uffizi Galleries”. Sport and entertainment – Until June, it will be possible to see the city from the top of the Florence Eye, the large panoramic wheel installed this year in the Parco delle Cascine. Next to it, until 15th January, the largest ice skating rink in Italy, with its 1,300 metres. It will also be possible to have fun skating, until 25th February, at the Palaghiacchio Giglio bianco, near the Tuscany Hall.
