Here is a rundown of events scheduled for August 2022 in Florence and the surrounding area. The announcements are taken from Feel Florence, the official tourism site of the Municipality of Florence and the metropolitan city area.

August is the month in which the events of the summer festivals continue, from the Florentine Summer, to the Fiesolane summer, passing by Scandicci Open City, Arena Summer Fest of Figline, Sesto Summer and Calenzano Summer, with events all around the area. Exhibitions – Palazzo Vecchio is hosting the cast of Antonio Canova “The Peace of Kiev”. At Palazzo Medici Riccardi, the exhibition “Oscar Ghiglia. The years of the 1900s” dedicated to the artistic career of the great painter of the last century. In the Galleria delle Carrozze, “The Harmonic Chaos” by the artist SKIM. At the Opera del Duomo Museum in the Sala della Tribuna of Michelangelo, the original of the Pietà Bandini and the casts of the Pietà Vaticana and of the Pietà Rondanini, from the Vatican Museums, displayed together for the first time. At Reggello for the project Terre degli Uffizi, inside the Museum Masaccio d’Arte Sacra in Cascia, there is an exhibition to celebrate 600 years of the San Giovenale Triptych. As part of the same project, the 14th century Triptych is on display at the Convent Bosco ai Frati of San Piero a Sieve, by the French painter Nicolas Froment. Music – In Empoli the 8th edition of the Beat Festival is back, in Serravalle Park, from 24th to 28th August. Until 30th September the Limonaia of Sesto Fiorentino will host musical events, while at the Medici Park of Pratolino the programme “A Park of Music” is scheduled, with concerts and performances.
